Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where can I rent water-sports equipment?
We rent at three Sai Kung-area spots. Sha Ha (Sai Kung, about 5 minutes from town) for stand-up paddleboards, single & double kayaks and camping gear; GO PARK Aqua (9 Hoi Ying Road, Sai Sha) for paddleboards and single & double kayaks; and Tai Long Sai Wan for surfboards and SUP-surf boards.
2. Do I need to know how to swim?
No swimming ability is needed for our flat-water rentals at Sha Ha and GO PARK Aqua — a life jacket is provided for everyone and must be worn on the water. (Surf and SUP-surf rentals at the more exposed water of Tai Long Sai Wan have their own prerequisites.)
3. What’s the minimum age?
Paddlers aged 6 and up are welcome; a double (tandem) kayak is open to children from age 3 sharing with a parent. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
4. How much does it cost?
At Sha Ha: single kayak HK$100 weekdays / HK$150 weekends & public holidays, double kayak HK$200 / HK$300, stand-up paddleboard from HK$300. At GO PARK Aqua: single kayak HK$120 half-day / HK$240 full-day, double kayak HK$250 / HK$450, paddleboard HK$190 / HK$380. Surf and SUP-surf boards at Tai Long Sai Wan from HK$200.
5. How do I book, and how far ahead?
Book online for any date two or more days ahead — your booking is confirmed automatically once payment is completed. For today or tomorrow, WhatsApp or call us at +852 2791 0806.
6. Which days are the centres open?
Sha Ha is closed on Wednesdays and GO PARK Aqua is closed on Tuesdays. Rental hours are generally 10:00–17:00 — please check each centre’s daily hours when you book.
7. What happens to my booking in bad weather?
If a Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above, or a Red or Black rainstorm warning, is in force two hours before your slot, the booking is postponed and we’ll contact you, with a refund or reschedule arranged case by case. A Thunderstorm Warning, Amber rainstorm or Signal No. 1 does not stop the activity.
8. Do I need a certificate to rent?
Kayaks need no certificate — just book and paddle. Stand-up paddleboard rental requires a valid SUP Beginner Certificate (for safety, with each participant’s certificate number entered at booking). Surf and SUP-surf board rental at Tai Long Sai Wan requires higher certificates — a Surfing Beginner Certificate for surfboards, and a SUP Intermediate Bronze Certificate for SUP boards. New to the sport? Our beginner courses lead to these certificates.
