As a popular surfing destination in Hong Kong, our Sai Wan Centre provides not only surfboard rentals but also paddle board (SUP) rentals for SUP surfing.
Due to the challenging water conditions at this location, there are some prerequisites you must meet before renting our equipment (See booking page for details).
1. How do I get to Tai Long Sai Wan? Take village bus NR29 from Chan Man Street in Sai Kung town to Sai Wan Pavilion, then hike in on foot to the beach. There is no road to the beach, so allow time for the walk.
2. Where do I meet for the Sai Wan SUP + Cascade Pools tour? At Sai Wan Hoi Long Café (西灣海浪茶座), not at Sha Ha. Meeting points can vary by program, so always check your booking confirmation.
3. What’s included in the SUP + Cascade Pools day tour, and how much? A full guided day (10:00–16:00) combining a stand-up paddle with a hike to the four-tier rock pools at Sheung Luk (Four Pools), plus equipment, safety gear, an instructor, and lunch. HK$890 per person standard, or HK$720 early-bird when you pay 20 or more days before your session.
4. Do I need experience for the guided tour? No — the tour is instructor-led and includes a paddle lesson, so beginners are welcome. It’s open to ages 6 and up; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
5. How do I book the tour? Submit a booking request first and wait for our confirmation email and payment instructions — please don’t pay upfront. Once confirmed, pay within 12 hours to secure your place.
6. Can I just rent a board at Sai Wan? Board rental is available but certificate-only because of the challenging open water: a Surfing Beginner Certificate for a surfboard, or a SUP Intermediate Bronze Certificate for a SUP board (HK$200 for 3 hours). Contact us before booking.
7. Is there a surfing course at Sai Wan? Yes — our Surfing Beginner Certificate Course runs seasonally (usually October to April), teaching you to surf safely under professional instructors and leading to a digital certificate. See the course page for dates and fees.
Our international qualified instructors will bring you to explore the hidden gems around the Sai Kung Peninsula with kayaks or SUP, learning about the different ecological facts along the way.
Blue Sky has developed amazing surfing and SUP surfing methodologies that will get you up and riding in no time. We understand that there is so much more to surfing and SUP surfing than standing on a board and riding a wave.
You could feel the quiet and mysterious side of the Sai Kung Peninsula, experience Hong Kong’s natural ecology. Our coach would lead you to have a close look and a photo with Kayak.
Wakeboard
Wakeboarding is a combination of water skiing, snowboarding, and surfing, in which a rider is towed along by a boat while riding a board.
