Sai Wan Centre provides high-quality surf equipment for rental, including regular surfboards and stand-up paddleboards (SUP Surfing).
As a popular surfing destination in Hong Kong, our Sai Wan Centre provides not only surfboard rentals but also paddle board (SUP) rentals for SUP surfing.
Due to the challenging water conditions at this location, there are some prerequisites you must meet before renting our equipment (See booking page for details).

1. What can I rent at Tai Long Sai Wan, and how much?
High-quality surfboards and stand-up paddleboards for SUP surfing, each HK$200 for a 3-hour session (board, paddle for SUP, and life jacket included).
2. Are there requirements to rent here?
Yes. Tai Long Sai Wan is exposed open-coast water, so board rental is certificate-only: surfboard rental requires a valid Surfing Beginner Certificate, and SUP board rental requires a SUP Intermediate Bronze Certificate.
3. Is Sai Wan suitable for beginners?
No. The open-coast conditions and certificate requirements mean Sai Wan board rental is for experienced surfers and paddlers. If you’re starting out, rent at our flat-water centres (Sha Ha or GO PARK Aqua), and take a course to earn the certificate.
4. What should I bring?
Water-sports shoes that cover your toes, swimwear, a change of clothes, a hat, sunscreen, a dry bag, and at least 750 ml of drinking water.
5. How do I get to Tai Long Sai Wan?
Take village bus NR29 from Chan Man Street in Sai Kung town to Sai Wan Pavilion, then hike in on foot to the beach. There is no road to the beach, so allow time for the walk.
