Questions about Bookings

How do I book a program or equipment rental?

At our Sha Ha (Sai Kung) centre: register once on our website as a Regular Customer (free) so you do not have to re-enter your details every time, then go to the booking section.

Equipment rental — book online for tomorrow or later; your booking is confirmed automatically once payment is completed. For a same-day rental, WhatsApp or call us on +852 2791 0806.

Courses and tours — submit your request online first. Once an instructor is assigned you will receive a payment email; if we cannot assign one you will receive a cancellation email.

GO PARK Aqua (Sai Sha) equipment rentals also book on this website; everything else there books through the GO PARK Sports app — see the GO PARK Aqua questions for details.

What is the minimum age?

Paddlers aged 6 and up are welcome; a double (tandem) kayak is open to children from age 3 sharing with a parent. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Do I need to carry the equipment myself?

Participants are required to carry the equipment themselves. Staff can only offer limited support.

Why do you need my personal and medical information in the customer registration form?

It is essential that we know about any medical conditions and individual needs for your safety. Our staff can adapt the program to meet your individual needs.

The information is kept confidential and is shared only with our course instructors and admin staff — or with an insurer, if you ask us to arrange additional insurance.

How many instructors will you provide for our activity?

For group classes, the maximum instructor-to-participant ratio is 1:8.

Do you provide transportation?

We can arrange transportation (including your own equipment) to the event location. Please contact our staff for more information.

Can your instructors support different languages?

We provide support for Cantonese / English / Mandarin.

Please make a note during booking checkout if you need English / Mandarin instructors.

What is your cancellation policy?

Visit our Cancellation / Refund Policy for more information.

How much does equipment rental cost?

Please refer to our rental pages for the most up-to-date pricing.

Blue Sky Sports Club members get 50% off full-day stand-up paddleboard rental at both venues — Sha Ha (Sai Kung) and GO PARK Aqua (Sai Sha).

Required swimming ability?

Courses, tours and guided programs: yes. All participants should be able to swim 25 metres unassisted, without a floating device. Some programs set a higher requirement — check the program page before booking.

Equipment rental: swimming ability is not required. A life jacket is provided and must be worn at all times.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Online payment: Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, AliPay, WeChat Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Direct bank transfer / cash deposit: our HSBC account details are shown at checkout. Please quote your order number as the payment reference, keep the receipt, and send us a copy by WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or email so we can confirm it.

What is included in my course / equipment booking?

Unless otherwise stated, course and tour bookings include the activity equipment, paddle, life jacket and instructor.

For group classes the maximum ratio is 1 instructor to 8 participants.

For equipment rental, the price includes the craft, paddle and life jacket. Only the booked gear is provided.

How do I know the course is confirmed?

Courses and tours at Sha Ha (Sai Kung) are enquire-first. Submit your request through the online booking system. Once we have assigned an instructor we will email you payment instructions; if we cannot assign one, you will receive a cancellation email instead. After payment is complete you will receive a confirmation email and receipt.

Equipment rental works differently — the booking is confirmed automatically as soon as payment is complete.

Guided classes, private coaching and events at GO PARK Aqua (Sai Sha) are booked through the GO PARK Sports app, not here.

What do I need to bring?

Must bring: Water sports shoes that cover your heels and toes, swimwear, a short-sleeve tee or rash guard, a hat, sunscreen, a dry bag, a change of clothes and 750 ml or more of drinking water.

To start the event on time, please change your clothes and store your personal belongings in advance.

What footwear / shoes do I need?

Wear water sports shoes that cover your heels and toes. Flip-flops are not suitable.

We also recommend bringing sunglasses (with a floating strap) and putting on sunscreen and insect repellent before the event. You’ll also need dry clothes for changing after the event.

What happens when the weather changes?

Please refer to our Cancellation / Refund Policy for details.

Can you customize a program for me?

Of course. Blue Sky Sports Club is always pleased to provide private courses tailored to your needs, including 1–5 day events, mixed water sports activities, fun days, training camps, junk touring, kayak touring, camping, and stand-up paddleboard courses from beginner to intermediate level.

Please contact us here: https://bluesky-sc.com/en/booking#custom or by email to info@bluesky-sc.com to arrange a unique program for you and your friends.

If we have a small group, can we still book your service?

Yes. A group course normally needs at least 4 people. If your group has fewer than 4, we will try to place you with other participants.

A private class for 1-3 people is available on our SUP Beginner Course and can be booked online; like all our courses, it is confirmed by our staff by email.

For a private class on any other course, message our staff on WhatsApp at +852 2791 0806 to check availability and pricing.

Regarding Certificates

Do I need a certificate to rent a kayak?

No. A certificate is not needed for kayak rental.

Do I need a certificate to rent a paddleboard?

Yes! Absolutely.
Our customers’ safety is always our first priority. To ensure that, every customer renting a paddleboard at Sha Ha (Sai Kung) or GO PARK Aqua (Sai Sha) must hold a SUP Beginner Certificate awarded by the Hong Kong, China Surf and Standup Paddle Association. Paddleboard rental at Tai Long Sai Wan requires a higher certificate — the SUP Intermediate Bronze. Our own SUP Beginner Course is co-organised with the Association and leads to the SUP Beginner Certificate.

This is to ensure you have the basic safety knowledge before venturing into the big blue, as the ocean could be quite unpredictable at times. 😉 Please fill in your certificate number when booking online. We reserve the right to cancel your booking if the certificate number is incorrect.

I finished my SUP Beginner Course. When will I get my certificate?

Participants who successfully complete the SUP Beginner Course will be issued an electronic certificate allowing them to rent a paddleboard on their own at Sha Ha (Sai Kung) and GO PARK Aqua (Sai Sha).
Please log in to your personal account, then open the link we sent you to view and download your certificate.
